Kenya SafarisSuggested Itineraries
Kenya is not only a remarkable wildlife safari destination with a great variety of wildlife, natural features, and sea-coast locations but is also a premium adventure, culture-history, and sports destination. Kenya has over 50 well-managed parks and reserves. The Tro-Peaks Adventures safari circuits highlight the best travel experiences from these parks. However, we also tailor tours to individual liking. Tours to the Kenya parks open a generous showing of wildlife including rare/endangered species and the captivating group of animals famously referred to as the big five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo). The wildlife habitats also include shelters and sanctuaries such as private conservancies and orphanages. The parks show a panorama of open grasslands, cliffs and gorges, hot springs, and marine life. Landscapes in Kenya present changing sceneries across regions. The spellbinding Great Rift Valley runs from the north to the south of the country bearing mountains bulging out of plains, inclining escarpments, forests, and photogenic lakes. Accommodation in Kenya ranges from basic camping to elegant tented camps and world-class hotels and lodges.

The Mara Reserve covers 1,510km² of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodlands, following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in southwest Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, wildebeest migration. Elephants, buffalos, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers.
It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot, but reasonably common. The ultimate action here is without a doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, when millions of these grazers move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October for the new life circle to begin after a life threatening move across the strong jaws and sharp canines of East Africa crocodile found within the Mara River and Talek River.

The Ngorongoro Crater sinks to a depth of 610 metres, with its floor covering 260 square kilometres; estimates of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500m to 5,800m.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), measuring 8,300 square kilometres, is the only place on earth where mankind and wild animals co-exist in harmony. The NCA became a Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1971 and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979.
