Rwanda National Parks are protected areas and wildlife reserves located within the borders of Rwanda in east-central Africa. Another of Rwanda’s famous parks is Akagera National Park. The park forms the largest protected wetland in central Africa and is home to a variety of game, including elephant, buffalo, topi, zebra, waterbuck, leopard, hyena, lion, several species of antelope, olive baboons, vervet monkeys and the elusive blue monkey. After trekking Volcanoes National Park, in search of mountain gorillas, a bit of R&R is required – the place for this is Lake Kivu.
