Overview

The Tro-Peaks Adventures safari experience will offer you a chance to explore the African wilderness in open-sided safari vehicles. A holiday in Tanzania or Kenya on a safari tour provides a safe way of enjoying the beauty of Africa escorted by a professional, English-speaking safari guide.

We provide personalized safari arrangements for clients who prefer a more individual safari holiday avoiding the mass-market tourist lodges and staying in smaller safari camps and eco-lodges. Most of our safaris involve transfers by air from Nairobi and Kilimanjaro direct to the parks, to cut out long journeys across country and to give more time to viewing wildlife.

East Africa (Tanzania & Kenya) is so rich in resources; it can be described as no less than immensely beautiful.

The safari destinations in Tanzania are commonly broken up into different geographical circuits, By far the most popular of these it the Northern Circuit. Its popularity is based on not only the fact that it includes the famed Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater but also that Mt. Kilimanjaro is nearby, making it possible to easily combine a mountain climb with a safari. It is also common for families and groups that those not interested in climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to go on a safari while the others are away scaling the mountain. The next most popular circuit is the Southern Circuit where safaris depart from Tanzania's biggest city, Dar es Salaam. The Western Circuit is quite remote and getting there by vehicle can be quite an adventure, especially during the rainy months of March - May and late November - December. Many people who choose this circuit prefer to fly in by small plane. The major draw of this circuit, is the opportunity to observe chimpanzees in the wild at Gombe Stream and Mahale National Parks.

Tanzania Safari Itineraries

The following is just a guide to what are the most common itineraries. We will gladly work with you to modify these to suit your needs and interests.

Northern Circuit

3 Day Wildlife Safari - Lake Manyara N.P., Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1: Moshi to Lake Manyara National Park
In the morning after breakfast with your packed lunch drive from Moshi to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing with your packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at your chosen lodge / campsite.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
-After breakfast, depart for the crater floor with a packed lunch. Descend into the crater for game viewing then dinner and overnight at same location as day 1.

Day 3: From evenings campsite / lodge to Moshi
After your breakfast the you will start drive back to Moshi, stopping at Meserani snake park. Return to Moshi

Notes: Popular additions to this itinerary include cultural tours of the Maasai, Hadzabe (Bushmen), the village of Mto wa Mbu, Lake Eyasi and/or Lake Natron.

4 Days Wildlife Safari - Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater

Although these destinations are close geographically, the safari experience is quite different in each of these locations.

Day 1: Moshi to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will be transported to Lake Manyara. After a short rest, while you stretch your legs and the staff removes all gear from the vehicle which is not needed for the afternoon game viewing, you will go on a game drive in beautiful Manyara National Park. Dinner and overnight at the campsite / lodge.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
Set out for the endless open plains and stunning skies of the Serengeti. After a scenic four hour drive to the park, and a brief stop at your evenings camp/lodge where the staff will unpack the vehicle, you will proceed on a game drive together with late evening game drive.
Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater.
After a relaxing morning and an early lunch, proceed with a game drive enroute to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the night will be spent on the Crater Rim at either lodge or campsite.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Tour - back to Moshi.
After an early breakfast, proceed down to the crater floor for a game drive with picnic lunches.
Return to Moshi, arriving in the evening.

Notes: Popular additions to this itinerary include cultural tours of the Maasai, Hadzabe (Bushmen), a hot air balloon safari in the Serengeti, the village of Mto wa Mbu, Lake Eyasi and/or Lake Natron, and a visit to Meserani snake park.

5 Days Wildlife Safari - Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Manyara

This itinerary is identical to the 4 day safari but with an extra day spent at Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is a large park and rightfully deserves its fame. If you have the time, this is a better option to the 4 day safari.

Day 1: Moshi to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will be transported to Lake Manyara. After a short rest, while you stretch your legs and the staff removes all equipment and gear from the vehicle which is not needed for the afternoon game viewing, you will go on a game drive in beautiful Manyara National Park. Dinner and overnight at the campsite / lodge.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
Set out for the endless open plains and stunning skies of the Serengeti. A scenic four hour drive, day game drive together with late evening game drive.
Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Early morning game drive Serengeti National Park, back for a late breakfast and little relaxation, then again proceed for a day game drive with picnic lunches.
Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro C. A.
After a relaxing morning and an early lunch, proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the night will be spent on the Crater Rim. Dinner and overnight at either Lodge or Campsite.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater tour - back to Moshi.
Early breakfast, proceed directly to the Crater floor for a crater tour with picnic lunches.
Later proceed back to Moshi, arrival in the evening.

6 Days Wildlife Safari - Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Manyara

This itinerary covers many different safari destinations. You will find each of them unique and it is well worth the effort to visit them all.

Day 1: Moshi to Arusha National Park
After breakfast, you will be driven to Arusha National Park for game viewing. Lunch at Momela. After lunch continue with game viewing, dinner and overnight in Arusha town.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will be driven to Tarangire National Park for game viewing. Meals and overnight at either lodge or campsite.

Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast transfer to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing, followed by a break for lunch. After lunch you will continue for more game viewing. Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite.

Day 4: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast transfer to Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands with your lunch box and game viewing enroute. Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After breakfast take a half day game viewing in Serengeti park, lunch in the Serengeti,then transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with game viewing enroute. Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite at the crater rim.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Creater to Moshi.
After breakfast, with packed lunch descend into the crater for game viewing. In the late afternoon, drive back to your hotel in Moshi.

7 Days Wildlife Safari - Lake Manyara, Lake Natron, Serengeti, Ngorongoro

Day 1: Moshi to Manyara National Park
After breakfast you will be driven to Manyara National Park. After a brief rest, you will proceed on a game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or campsite.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park to Lake Natron
After breakfast,we will drive to Lake Natron. It is a tedious journey through rough and dusty road. The Scenery there is beautiful especially the Ngarasero escarpment, waterfalls, the gorge, Oldonyo Lengai (a still active volcano.) There are great panoramic views and and the lake is teaming with flamingoes. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron.

Day 3: Lake Natron Tour
Spend the day exploring Lake Natron visiting waterfalls. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Kamakia Campsite.

Day 4:Wasso village tour.
After breakfast drive to Wasso and visit Maasai bomas on your way to the Lobo area of the Serengeti. Picnic lunch will be provided. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or campsite.

Day 5: Wasso to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast conduct game viewing in the Lobo area. Return to the camp for lunch then continue to the Seronera area of the Serngeti with game viewing enroute. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or campsite.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro via Ndutu with game viewing enroute. We will enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or campsite on the crater rim.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
After breakfast descend 2000ft to the crater floor for crater tour with picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we depart for Moshi where we will arrive in the evening.

8 Days Wildlife Safari - Lake Manyara, Lake Natron, Maasai, Serengeti, Ngorongoro

This itinerary, in addition to featuring the best of Tanzania's parks, gets off the beaten track a bit and offers some excellent cultural tourism.

Day 1: Moshi to Manyara National Park.
After breakfast leave Moshi and drive to Manyara National Park for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park to Lake Natron
After breakfast drive to Lake Natron. It is a tedious journey through rough and dusty roads. Day 6: Full day tour in Serengeti National Park
Spend the whole of this day game viewing in Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro via Ndutu with game viewing enroute and picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at either lodge or campsite on the crater rim.

DAY 8: Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Moshi
After breakfast descend 2000ft to the crater floor with picnic lunch for game viewing. In the afternoon, depart for Moshi.

Southern Circuit - Departing from Dar es Salaam

4 Days Wildlife Safari to Saadani National Park

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Saadani National Park
In the morning after an early breakfast you will be transported from your hotel to Saadani National Park. The drive will be approximately 5 hours long but it is a scenic drive. You will have a picnic lunch along the way. In the everning time you will go on a boat safari in Wami river where by you will have an opportunity to see hippo, crocodile and fish. It is a beautiful area where river, ocean and land meet with a lovely mangrove forest.

Dinner and Overnight: Saadani lodge or luxury tented camp.

Day 3 Saadani National Park
After breakfast, you will have a full day game drive in Saadani National Park with your packed lunch.
Dinner and Overnight: Saadani lodge or luxury tented camp.

Day 4: Saadani National Park to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast you will have a half day game drive with packed lunch then return back to the hotel in Dar es Salaam

5 Days Wildlife Safari - Nyerere N.P., Mikumi N.P.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park
In the morning after an early breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel from hotel and driven to Nyerere National Park, a 6-8 hour drive. A stop will be made to enjoy a picnic lunch along the way.
Dinner and Overnight: Nyerere National Park either in campsite or luxury tented camp.

Days 2 & 3: Nyerere National Park
You will have 2 full days in the reserve Exploration of the Reserve by 4 wheel drive vehicle, boat and on foot. The Nyerere National Park, famous for its elephants, was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but more shy than the northern parks. Our foot safari will give us a particularly intimate feel for the African wilds, while our excursions by vehicle will permit us to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of the vast game reserve. We will explore the Rufiji River by boat, where hippos and crocodiles are in good numbers. Some 350 bird species have been recorded here. These are typical of miombo woodland, and the bird life supported by Rufiji swamplands is of particular interest.

Dinner and Overnight in Nyerere National Park either in campsites or luxury tented camp.

Day 4 Nyerere National Park to Mikumi National Park
After an early breakfast we proceed to Mikumi Park where we will have lunch before going on an afternoond game drive through the park. Dinner and Overnight: in Mikumi either at a campsite, luxury tented camp or lodge.

Day 5: Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam
Early morning game drive through the park. After returning for a late breakfast, we collect our gear and depart back to Dar es Salaam

6 Days Zanzibar and Saadani National Park

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar
After breakfast you will be taken to the port and take a ferry to Zanzibar. After settling in at your hotel, will have have the rest of the day relax on the beach.

Day 1:Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
Drive approximately 5 hours to Mikumi National Park. After a rest, you will go on an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at lodge or campsite

Day 2: Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park
Geme drive while enroute to Ruaha National Park. Dinner and overnight at lodge or campsite

Day 3: Ruaha National Park
Full day game drive in Ruaha, with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at lodge or campsite

Day 4: Ruaha National Park
Early morning game drive, back for hot lunch and the evening game drive Dinner and overnight at lodge or campsite

Day 5: Ruaha National Park to Morogoro
Drive 6-7 hours to Morogoro through beautiful Uluguru Mountains, stop by Maasai bomas and some villages on the way, with packed lunch then dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Morogoro to Nyerere National Park.
Drive 5-6 hours to Nyerere National Park with your packed lunch on route then dinner and overnight at luxury tented camp, lodge or campsite

Day 2: Mikumi National Park - Nyerere National Park
After an early breakfast depart for Nyerere National Park with picnic lunch, enroute game drive. Dinner and overnight at lodge or campsite

Day 3 & 4:Nyerere National Park
You will have 2 full days in the Nyerere National Park. Exploration of the reserve by a combination of walking safari, boat safari and 4 wheel drive vehicle. Dinner and overnight at lodge or campsite

Day 5: Nyerere National Park - Dar es Salaam
After breakfast return to Dar es Salaam with picnic lunch.

4 Days Wildlife Safari to Nyerere National Park

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park
After an early breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and be driven to Nyerere National Park, which will take approximately 6-8 hours drive. There will be a pause to enjoy a picnic lunch on the way and enjoy the scenic drive to Nyerere National Park.

Dinner and overnight: Selous either in campsite or luxury tented camp

Days 2 & 3: Nyerere National Park
You will have 2 full days in the Nyerere National Park exploring by 4 wheel drive vehicle, boat and on foot. Western Circuit - Chimpanzee Tracking Safaris

5 Days Chimpanzee Tracking Safari at Mahale National Park

Day 1 Arrive in Kigoma
Fly from Kilimanjaro or Arusha airports to Kigoma. Arrive Kigoma and pick up from the airport for transfer to Kigoma Hilltop Hotel for Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Kigoma to Mahale National Park
Breakfast at the hotel followed by departure to Mahale National Park by motorized boat; visit the Mahale Park Information Center at park headquarters. Lunch at the camp and afternoon at leisure. Dinner and bonfire at Nkungwe luxury tented camp

Day 3:Chimpanzee Tracking
After breakfast in the camp depart for a chimpanzee tracking in the forest, returning to the camp for lunch. After lunch game viewing by boat on the lake (birds, hippos etc). Dinner and bonfire at Nkungwe Luxury Tented Camp

Day 4: Game viewing & fishing
After breakfast start with game viewing / chimpanzee tracking in the forest followed by lunch at the camp. The afternoon will be spent fishing by boat on the lake (2 to 3 hours). Dinner and bonfire at Nkungwe Luxury Tented Camp

Day 5: Return to Kigoma
Early breakfast at the camp then depart for Kigoma by motorized boat. Lunch and transfer to the airport for the return to Moshi or Arusha.

4 Days Chimpanzee Tracking Safari at Gombe National Park

Day 1: Arrival day- Kigoma
Fly to Kigoma. Dinner and overnight at hotel

Day 2: Gombe Stream N. P.
Breakfast at the hotel and then depart to Gombe National Park by boat. Morning chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Lunch at the Gombe Rest House; Afternoon at leisure; dinner and overnight at the Gombe Rest House

Day 3:Chimpanzee Tracking
Breakfast at the campfollowed by chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Climb to the Kakombe Waterfalls at the park. Lunch at the Gombe Rest House. Dinner at the Gombe Rest House.

Day 4: Gombe - Kigoma
Breakfast in the park and then boat ride to Kigoma for your onward travel back to Moshi or Arusha.

Kenya Safari Itineraries

The below are just a sample of the most commonly requested safari itineraries to Kenyan destinations. We are happy to work with you in creating your own bespoke itinerary if you want options besides what are shown below.

6 Days: Safari to Amboseli National Park/Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
According to this program can depart from the airport or from your Nairobi hotel. This national park is at the foot of the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Lunch at a lodge. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at a luxury lodge or budget camp where includes is F/B.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park
Today you will have a full day in this photogenic park then dinner and overnight at overnight at Amboseli sopa or kibo safari camp Amboseli National Park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya- Tanzania border, The park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896m) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Nakuru National Park
After your early morning breakfast leave amboseli for Nairobi and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, picnic lunch en-route. We recommend that you relax within the hotel and proceed for a game viewing in Lake Nakuru on Day 4 as this will give you much time in Lake Nakuru when you have more energy. This is because Lake Nakuru does not accept re-entry to the park since the accommodation is located outside the park. At your accommodation includes is F/B

Day 4: Lake Nakuru- Masai Mara.
After breakfast depart for Masai Mara – the land of vast migrating animals. Arrival will be in time for late lunch. After lunch embark on a game drive. Dinner and overnight at a luxury lodge or luxury tented camp includes is F/B.

Day 5: Masai Mara- Full day game drives
Today you will have a full day game drive in Maasai Mara you will exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big 5. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person. Dinner and overnight a luxury lodge or luxury tented camp includes is F/B.

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, leopards, many kinds of antelopes and elephants. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna - lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures

Day 6: Masai Mara -Nairobi
Today after breakfast then with your lunch you will start early game drives then continue to Nairobi where the safari ends you will stay in the hotel in Nairobi includes is B/B.

4 Days Safari to Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara
Our safari starts with a pick-up by one of our drivers at your hotel, residential house, guest house, apartment or airport. Kindly advise pick up point. Pickup is as early as 0730am depending on the location of your hotel. You will have a short safari briefing as you get to know your guide. There after depart for Masai Mara with the first stop at the Great Rift Valley View Point. This is a perfect place to be in the early morning and evening. You will watch enthralling Rift Valley with its vast vegetation and the sun rays kissing the far and wide stretching mountains in the surrounding.

The Great Rift Valley has been reckoned as a wonder of the world stretching from the Middle East passing through Africa and has a great and vast chunk in East African part and ends in Mozambique in the South. After about 15-20 min of getting history you will proceed to Narok. Narok is a town west of Nairobi that supports Kenya’s economy in south-west of the country, along the Great Rift Valley.

Narok is the district capital of the Narok County and stands as the major center of commerce in the district. Narok has a population of around 40,000 people, mostly Masai. The Masai, natives of Narok District, refer to Narok as Enkare Narok (meaning black water or dark water) named after, Enkare Narok, the river flowing through Narok town. The elevation of Narok is 1827 meters (5,997 feet) in altitude.

You will have a brief stop here for car refueling; there after proceed to Masai Mara, on arrival you will be received by our Masai Mara staff who will then assist you to check in the camp or lodge. Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve Full Day
Masai Mara is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system. I am sure you have heard the wildebeest migration is nothing short of amazing. It is one of the things you have to add to your bucket list.

Balloon ride is highly recommended in Masai Mara very early in the morning in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers fantastic orange-tinged rise and sunsets that one can make for spectacular photos. Much game are coming at your door step when you in the park leaving you with only option of counting your blessings that nature holds for you as you view them in their natural habitat using a birds eye view.

This will be the full day explore the Masai Mara, breakfast will be served as early as 0730 am, then our cook will pack for you fresh picnic lunch since the whole day will be exploring the Masai Mara famous 7th wonders of the World.

This game reserve is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The Mara’s gentle fertile climate bounded by The Rift, offers perhaps the richest stocked reserve set within some 1672 sq km – an unlimited spectacle of wildlife. Located 268 km west of Nairobi, the emphasis here is on game. Herds of immense elephants, browse among lion, buffalo, Thompson gazelle, zebra and topi. You may occasionally sight black rhino. In the Mara River hippos play and bask on the banks.. After exploring the park return to the camp or luxury lodge for dinner and overnight includes is F/B.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park
Today you will have a wakeup call as early as 0600 am, you will have hot African coffee or tea and then proceed for an early morning game drive from 06:30hrs until 0930hrs, then our driver will drive you back to the camp or lodge where you will be served with full breakfast as you check out for Lake Nakuru. If willing on this day you can as well visit a Masai village for one hour and learn more of the Masai culture (company to pay), lunch will be in Narok town or (Mai Mahiu) hot water after lunch proceed to Lake Nakuru and arriving early evening we recommend checking in at your budget accommodation and relax after a long drive.

Game viewing in Nakuru will be done on day 4 in the morning till lunch time. This is so because Lake Nakuru does not allow re-entry to the park and if we get to the park on this day we shall only have a few hours before its closing time than getting to the park in the morning and spend good time exploring the park on Day 4 (this will be possible if you opt for http://kranhotels.com/ as this budget accommodation is outside the park ) otherwise for the lodge option you will have both evening and morning game viewing in Lake Nakuru since lodge facilities are located inside Lake Nakuru National Park and one can take advantage of the lodge location for more game viewing. Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Back To Nairobi.
The Bird watchers’ paradise the lake is on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives. Breakfast will be served at around 0730 am there after proceed for the game drive, you will have a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for a sizable number of the endangered white and black rhinos as well as Rothschild giraffe. waterbucks, predators such as the lion and leopard are common at the park.

Also to be seen is a myriad different variety of bird life in and around the lake. Flamingos are also found at the lake though not as plentifull as in the past few years due to rise in water level. 3 Days Safari Masai Mara

Day 1: Nairobi Airport Hotel to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel by 06:30 am followed by a departure for Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Your first break shall be at the viewpoint of The Great Rift Valley whose view of the valley below is a breathtaking panoramic and a stop Narok town for a break for refueling the safari vehicle for a final stretch to Masai Mara Game Reserve, typically arriving in the mid-morning at approximately10:30 to 11:30 hrs at the lodge. I recommend that you check in and relax by the swimming pool as you wait for an early hot lunch. After lunch at around 15:00 hrs set off together with your well dressed, knowledgeable English speaking driver guide for afternoon game viewing until 18:30 hrs when the park closes. The rest of the evening will be at Mara Sopa Lodge where dinner will be served enjoyed. You are welcome to recharge your phones and cameras at no extra cost. Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Today you will have a full day game viewing in Kenya’s finest wildlife destination, the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. The Mara Reserve covers 1,510km² of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodlands, following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in southwest Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, wildebeest migration. Elephants, buffalos, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers.

It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot, but reasonably common. The ultimate action here is without a doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, when millions of these grazers move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October for the new life circle to begin after a life threatening move across the strong jaws and sharp canines of East Africa crocodile found within the Mara River and Talek River.

7 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari

This tour take you through the northern Serengeti National Park which is Masai Mara Game Reserve on the Kenya side and without driving backwards, cross the boarder through Isebania Border and continue to the Serengeti National Park on the Tanzania side. The tour shall continue to the Ngorongoro Crater then finalize your trip with a visit to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey shall then end in Arusha between 12:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs let us know your flight details for us to calculate wisely the ending time in Arusha

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara Game Reserve
This tour can start immediately upon arrival if you opt not to have a night in Nairobi. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative for a short safari briefing and after meet and greet your Kenya Tanzania combined safari will start, we will drive heading south west to Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. We spend the afternoon at leisure before embarking for our evening game drive across this beautiful dotted plains of the Mara in search of game that includes big cats, sopi, hartebeest, oribi, Grant’s and Thomson gazelle, buffalo, waterbuck, vervet monkey, olive baboon as well as many species of reptiles and amphibians. Have dinner and overnight stay at a luxury lodge or a luxury tented camp.

Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Wake before the dawn for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a Masai Mara sunrise. After a quick cup of coffee, you’ll head out into the park to watch as the sun sets fire to the savannah and the big cats take advantage of the morning cool to search for a meal.

Alternatively, you can take to the skies with a hot air balloon safari that will see you soar above all of the action before setting down on the plains for a champagne breakfast among the wildlife. Ask your safari expert about adding a hot air balloon adventure to your safari.

You’ll then return to your lodge for a late breakfast before packing a picnic lunch and heading back out into the park for a day-long exploration of the Maasai Mara. You may also opt to relax at your lodge in the morning, enjoy lunch on site, and then head out again in the afternoon once the weather has cooled off a bit. Day 3: Masai Mara to Serengeti via Isebania Border
Bid farewell to the Masai Mara and Kenya after an early breakfast and a morning game drive as you cross the park viewing wildlife this morning. Exit the park through Oloolo Gate and onwards to Isebania Border where there shall be a brief stop over for immigration formalities and early picnic lunch.

After the immigration formalities are done, you’ll meet your new driver from the Tanzania side and continue on into the world-famous Serengeti National Park for late evening game drive en route to the lodge. Serengeti National Park is home to huge populations of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes – the picturesque Serengeti is an excellent place to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs as well as herbivores including elephants, hippos, and giraffes.

NOTE: This is a long day of driving from Maasai Mara to Serengeti National Park. Be prepared for a tiring day! Alternatively there is an option of taking a flight from Masai Mara to Seronera Airstrip which will save you much time and long drives. And you will be able to lunch at the selected lodge in Serengeti if you opt for a flight option. Dinner and overnight at a luxury lodge or a luxury tented camp.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park
You’ll wake before dawn for an unforgettable sunrise game drive. Marvel at how the sun sets fire to the savannah as you go in search of big cats on the hunt for their morning meal.

After breakfast, you’ll spend an entire day out on the plains of the Serengeti searching for the Big Five and (if the time is right) the movements of the famous Wildebeest Migration.

Weaving through kopjes upon which lions sun themselves, you’ll see some of the world’s most iconic wildlife against the open plains and big sky of Tanzania’s crown jewel. Dinner and overnight at a luxury lodge or a luxury tented camp. Included is F/B.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
After breakfast, we get right on the road back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Our drive takes us through the Serengeti via a different route, offering plenty of opportunities to spot the animals that eluded you on day two. As far as the eye can see, you’ll spot thousands upon thousands of animals in herds; wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals: the predators.

You will have the chance to spot lean cheetahs and shy leopards, foraging hyenas, and last but not least, the king himself; the lion.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Manyara
After an early breakfast, descend into this extraordinary volcanic crater for a spectacular full day game drive.

Had it not become the world’s sixth-largest unbroken caldera, then what is now known as the Ngorongoro Crater could have been a towering volcanic mountain as high as Kilimanjaro.

The crater is a large, unbroken, un-flooded volcanic caldera, formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago. The Ngorongoro Crater sinks to a depth of 610 metres, with its floor covering 260 square kilometres; estimates of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500m to 5,800m.

Animal populations in the crater include almost every individual species of wildlife in East Africa (with an estimated 25,000 animals within the Crater), including the “Big Five” of rhinoceros, lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), measuring 8,300 square kilometres, is the only place on earth where mankind and wild animals co-exist in harmony. The NCA became a Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1971 and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park for morning and early afternoon game viewing then we return to Moshi/Arusha/Kilimanjaro International Airport to end the itinerary.

After breakfast, you will then have a game drive to Lake Manyara where different species of wildlife will be observed.

Leopards, lions, elephants, baboons, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelles, hippos, giraffes, impalas, bushbucks, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras and more, inhabit Lake Manyara National Park.

The park is also home to more than 400 bird species and is known for the flamingos that inhabit the lake. During the wet season they populate the edges of the lake in flocks of thousands, however they are not so numerous during the dry season.

After game drive in this small park then you will drive back to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) or Moshi for overnight. B/B
